LONDON, September 14, 2026. Alpine Investors announced the launch of Eight Group Service Partners, a new platform in UK hard facilities management. Alpine's $4.5 billion Fund IX is backing the venture. Eight Group combines core mechanical and electrical services with select subspecialty providers. It serves commercial customers who need compliance-driven, recurring maintenance work.

Eight Group launched with five named partner businesses. They are MV Lifts, Enertech, KCE FM, DPP and Irwin M&E, alongside four additional businesses. Together they repair, maintain and install the systems that keep buildings running. That includes heating and cooling, electrical, mechanical, lift and fire safety systems. Combined, the group serves more than 5,000 clients. It employs over 1,000 people and generates more than £200 million in annualized revenue.

Eight Group runs on a decentralized model. Partner businesses keep their own brands, leadership and cultures. Eight Group provides long-term investment, technology, talent and shared capabilities.

"We're building Eight Group to be an enduring home for the UK's engineers and the partner of choice for outstanding technical services businesses," said Dan Guest, Eight Group's chief executive officer. Guest spent 13 years at Mitie. Most recently, he was managing director of technical services there, running a £1.8 billion hard M&E profit-and-loss business. "Our philosophy is to protect what makes our partner businesses special while helping them go further, investing in their people, technology, and capabilities, and creating new opportunities for their teams and customers. Our decentralised model keeps leadership and accountability close to the customer, while the Group provides the scale, resources, and breadth of capability to go further together."

Freddie Wepener is Eight Group's chief financial officer. He previously held senior finance roles across the UK facilities management sector. Amar Shanghavi is president. He previously served as an investment director at MML Capital Partners, where he was responsible for 12 platform investments.

"Eight Group reflects Alpine's belief that the strongest businesses are built through exceptional people, long-term partnership, and disciplined growth," said Jack Armstrong, principal at Alpine Investors. "We're excited to support Dan, Amar, Freddie, and the partner businesses as they build an enduring group that creates opportunities for engineers, preserves entrepreneurial cultures, and delivers outstanding outcomes for customers."

Alpine has run this playbook before. The firm launched Orion Services Group in 2020. It scaled that platform into one of the largest hard facilities management businesses in the United States. Growth came through partnerships and investment across HVAC, plumbing and broader facilities services. Eight Group applies the same strategy to the UK market. Hard FM demand there is largely compliance-driven and recurring in nature.
