Golden Gate Capital Announces Final Close of Fund VII
The San Francisco private equity firm closed Fund VII above $1.5 billion, bringing total investable capital with co-investments to $2.5 billion.
SAN FRANCISCO, July 20, 2026. Golden Gate Capital (the "Firm"), a San Francisco-based private equity firm, announced the final closing of Golden Gate Capital Fund VII, L.P. and affiliated vehicles ("Fund VII" or the "Fund"), with over $1.5 billion in total capital commitments. The Firm expects to offer approximately $1 billion in co-investments to limited partners ("LPs"), bringing total investable capital to $2.5 billion.
Fund VII received strong support from a global group of new and existing LPs, including sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, family offices, and other institutional investors. The Firm continues to be led by Managing Directors Dan Haspel (Technology & Financial Services sector), Mike Montgomery (Consumer Services sector), and Javier Puig (Industrials sector), alongside Founder and Managing Director David Dominik.
Fund VII will continue Golden Gate Capital's strategy of partnering with founders, owners, and management teams to build growth-oriented, middle-market businesses. The Firm targets control investments in North American companies with $20 million to $50 million of EBITDA across its core sectors of Industrials, Consumer Services, and Technology & Financial Services, leveraging deep domain expertise and cross-sector collaboration to accelerate growth and build strategic scarcity value.
Golden Gate Capital entered Fund VII with significant momentum. Since the beginning of 2025, the Firm completed six exits from its prior flagship fund, Golden Gate Capital Opportunity Fund, and generated approximately $2.2 billion of gross distributions to LPs. The Firm's liquidity record is supported by a longstanding history of annual gross distributions averaging more than 20% of total NAV over the last 10 years.
Prior to the final close, Golden Gate Capital made two platform investments out of Fund VII: oneZero Financial Systems, a global leader in multi-asset enterprise trading technology solutions, and Brava Roof Tile, a leading provider of composite roofing materials.
Since inception, Golden Gate Capital has raised over $20 billion of cumulative committed capital and completed more than 375 platform investments and add-ons, generating approximately $35 billion in realizations over its 25-year history.
